Below you’ll find answers to the most common questions you may have about Pharmacy Profiles. If you still can’t find the answer you’re looking for, request help (if you’re a user of our services), or contact us (if you just want to learn more).

Pharmacy Profiles is a trusted and verified repository of the nation’s pharmacist providers. It enables pharmacists to manage their professional information all in one place. It is also a single source for pharmacist employers, payers, and other organizations to verify information about pharmacists so they can determine their qualifications and eligibility to provide patient care services.

Here are some ideas to troubleshoot the issue:

  • Any typos? Please make sure you entered the information correctly. Check for any typos in your eProfile ID and/or birthday.
  • Do you have a pharmacist license? You must have a pharmacist license on record with NABP (National Association of Boards of Pharmacy) in order to claim your Pharmacist Profile.
  • Are you a student pharmacist or pharmacy technician? If you are a student or pharmacy technician, you are not able to claim a Profile at this time.
  • Do you have a login for your NABP eProfile account? You must have an active eProfile account with NABP in order to claim your Pharmacist Profile. This means that you must have a username (which is your email address) and a password that enables you to login to your NABP eProfile. If you don’t have a login, please visit the NABP eProfile login screen to create a login. If you haven’t logged in since March 2018, you may need to verify your eProfile account.

For all Profile information except license, CPE, and pharmacy degree (if auto-populated), you can login to your Profile to update the information. From your Profile summary page, click the edit link for the section that you wish to update.

If you wish to update your license or pharmacy degree information, please visit your NABP eProfilewhere you can update your information. Please note that there may be a lag in the display of changes.

Continuing Pharmacy Education (CPE) information is provided by CPE Monitor®. The list only includes activities reported to CPE Monitor® by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE). Please follow the policies of CPE Monitor® if you have any questions about your CPE information. Please note that there may be a lag in the display of CPE information of 60-90 days after you completed the activity.

Estimated time to create a basic Pharmacist Profile is approximately 5 minutes. If you wish to build a more complete Profile, it may take a little longer.

To make it easier for you, your Pharmacist Profile includes information we know about you already filled in. Please review and update each section. The time will vary depending on how much information you have to review and add. A pharmacist with a 20-year career may take longer than a new practitioner.

The system will save your information as you go. If you need to stop, you can exit and come back to complete the rest later.

Your Pharmacist Profile is YOUR tool to track your professional information. You can complete as much or as little of your Profile as you wish. To make it easier for you, your Pharmacist Profile includes information we know about you already filled in.

To complete a basic Profile, you’ll need:

  • NABP eProfile ID
  • birth day/month

Pharmacy Profiles is committed to protecting the information of all pharmacists who have a Profile with us. The security of information in Pharmacy Profiles is our highest priority. Data in all stages of storage and transfer in the Pharmacy Profiles architecture is secured using healthcare industry-standard encryption. Our security features include:

  • Pharmacy Profiles data is encrypted both in transit and at rest
  • Pharmacy Profiles data access is highly restricted and accessible only by authorized users
  • Pharmacy Profiles tracks and logs user access and change history for auditing and analysis

Pharmacy Profiles collects information about your usage of the Profiles service as a part of our continuous effort to improve features and the overall user experience.   The usage information that is collected may include your activity in the Profiles service and information about your device (e.g., its IP address, web browser and operating system, device model and manufacturer). Please review our Privacy Policy for more details.

Yes. Pharmacists may store and manage their professional information in their Profile for no cost.

Pharmacist license information (for pharmacists and student pharmacists) is provided by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP). While we strive to have the latest information, there may be a lag depending on how frequently the state updates the information with NABP. If your license expiration date is stale or you are missing licenses, we will likely receive new data over time that will correct it.

If you wish to update or correct your license information immediately, follow these steps:

  1. Visit your NABP eProfile and update your license information.
  2. After you have updated your information at NABP, login at Pharmacy Profiles and go to the “Licenses” page.
  3. Click “request new license data from NABP” to import the updated license information. After we have received the new data from NABP, this page will be refreshed to display the new license information.
  4. It will take a few seconds for the data request and refresh to be completed. If you don’t see the new license data displayed in your Pharmacist Profile after a few minutes, click to refresh the License page.

Pharmacy Profiles will only receive the license data that you have listed in your NABP eProfile, so be sure that your NABP eProfile has the correct license information.

Pharmacy Profiles provides services to industry stakeholders to enable them to access up-to-date, verified information on the nation’s pharmacists. This information is vital to the continuing evolution of the pharmacy profession.  It will enable pharmacists to expand their role in providing an array of patient care services, participate more fully in provider networks and achieve recognition as qualified providers in diverse practice settings.

Your information will only be provided based on our User Agreement and strict data usage guidelines.

We will be adding additional services for pharmacists to enable you to output your professional information and facilitate your continuing professional development.

Our vision is to create a repository of third-party verified information about the nation’s pharmacists. To verify this information, we go to the sources of the information, such as the American Pharmacists Association, National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), National Council for Prescription Drug Programs, (NCPDP), Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS), and many others.

We currently verify information on licensure, selected advanced credentials, CPE, NPI status and more. Throughout your Profile, you will see the status of the information as:

  • Self-attested: the pharmacist has self-attested
  • Verified: The information has been verified by the source organization.

To claim your Profile, click here, enter your email address and a password. You will then be asked for a few pieces of information so we can match you with your Profile. Once you have confirmed that we have the correct information and accept the User Agreement, you will have officially claimed your Profile. Then, it’s time to review and update your information. In each section, you will see the information we know about you already filled in. Please review and update each section.

To update your Profile, login using your email address and password. From your Profile summary page, you can click on any section to update the information.

Advanced credentials are certifications, certificate training programs and other advanced training programs that pharmacists take to gain skills and become qualified in specific areas of practice or management.

To ensure we maintain the highest quality, we research each advanced credential listed on Pharmacy Profiles. We want to be sure all the advanced credentials we list are valid and related to the pharmacy profession.

Once you are logged in, you can view and search the full list of advanced credentials.

To change your email address or password, please login to your Profile and click the Account link at the top of the page. Complete the change form and click the save button.

Do you bill for goods or services ordered, referred or prescribed by another provider? If so, you must meet the Ordering, Referring and Prescribing (ORP) requirements or your claims will be denied. Learn more about ORP in California at the ORP website.

Absolutely! Pharmacy Profiles developed our Credentials Verification Service for industry stakeholders such as pharmacist employers and payers. Contact us for more information and a demo.

Certain state boards of pharmacy offer a separate license classification of pharmacists often known as Advanced Practice Pharmacist or a similar name. While the name and details vary state-to-state, this advanced practice license generally requires the pharmacist to meet additional training requirements and entitles them to provide certain professional services they might not otherwise be authorized to provide.  See below for states that offer this special type of license:

A “team” is a pharmacy or group of pharmacies who are grouped for administrative purposes. Each team has a “population” of pharmacists who are being tracked by the Pharmacy Profiles Credentials Verification Service.

Teams are created by the Pharmacy Profiles Administrator as part of a company’s or network’s subscription to Credentials Verification Service.

If you are a team member or team manager, you can learn more about your role and what you need to do at the Pharmacy Profiles microsite created for your organization.

The Pharmacy Profiles system sends an invitation email to “Team Managers” or “Team Members” to alert these users about their special role.

If you can’t find your invitation email for your role as a team manager or team member, please contact support who can assist you. Please provide your email address, name and pharmacy NCPDP number(s) and the subscriber name (e.g. APCI, Aspen RxHealth etc.)

Reminder, if you are a pharmacist, please claim your Pharmacist Profile first.

Pharmacy Profiles uses two-factor authentication as an added way to protect your account from unauthorized logins. Two-factor authentication adds additional security to your account by requiring not only your username and password, but also a 6-digit code from your mobile phone. If your password is compromised, your account will be inaccessible without the unique code sent to your phone.

If you have access to other users’ data (e.g., team managers, team members), two-factor authentication will be mandatory starting December 13, 2021. Until then, you can click to skip the set-up process.

For all other users, two-factor authentication will be optional.

Helpful hints:

  • Be sure to use a mobile phone number, so you can receive the authentication code via text message.
  • If you need to change the mobile phone number, visit the “Account” section after you’ve logged in.
  • Once you’ve set up two-factor authentication, you will need to enter an authentication code each time you login

The credentials verification and credentialing application services offered through Pharmacy Profiles may be considered background checking services under federal and state law. Although Pharmacy Profiles does not conduct typical background screenings, such as credit and criminal checks, we comply with the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and similar state laws. If a pharmacy professional believes data shared with Pharmacy Profiles subscriber(s) has inaccurate or incomplete information, the pharmacy professional can find details about our dispute process on the FCRA information page. Review the dispute process thoroughly before completing and submitting the dispute form.
